An extensive 60-day journey circling the Australian Coast was terminated days after the death of an older lady who was stranded by the ship on a distant coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but broke off from the group for a rest. The ship departed without her and went back later that day after the personnel realised the lady was unaccounted for.

An extensive search operation found her body the subsequent day.

Officials are examining the tragedy, together with police and the official investigator.

The CEO of the voyage organizer said that travelers and staff on the vessel were notified that the continuation of the cruise had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and prior technical problems".

Via official communication, he mentioned that passengers would be issued a complete reimbursement, and said the operator was working "to coordinate the travel back of the travelers via specially arranged planes".
