Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
