US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
