Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
