Supporters Urge Detainment of Man Who Touched Ariana Grande

Passionate supporters of the actress are demanding that a person who breached a barricade and touched the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage reveals the Australian man bypassing photographers and rushing toward Grande while the actors walked down a yellow carpet surrounded by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though official papers showed that he was set to appear on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account includes recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a punishable act," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Express Concern Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Many followers criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another response on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others requested online networks to block Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Numerous of attendees had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.

The motion picture, to be premiered on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-part adaptation of the well-known theatrical show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely relationship between two contrasting characters.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of last year in the UK, and received 10 award recognitions, winning several for outstanding attire and set decoration.
